أتى عام 1984 ومضى، لك رؤية جورج أورويل التنبؤية والكابوسية للعالم لا تزال راهنة ومعاصرة أكثر من أي وقت سابق. تعتبر رائعة أورويل من أعظم الكلاسيكيات التي تتناول “الديستوبيا”، فهي رواية تخلق عالما خياليا مقنعاً بأدق تفاصيله، وتجول بنا في المكاتب والشوارع والسجون وسط عالم مرعب وجنوني، شعاره: الحرب سلام، الحرية عبودية، الجهل قوة؛ تتابع الرواية شخصية ونستون سميث، وهو موظف ينزوي في ركنه داخل دائرة السجلات في وزارة الحقيقة، ويعيد ببراعة كتابة الماضي ليتوافق مع حاجة الحزب. إلا أنه يعيش معارك داخلية ضد العالم

فى صباح 24 فبراير 1815م ، أشرقت الشمس فى نعومة على المياه الزرقاء للبحر الأبيض المتوسط حول جزيرة ( ألبـا ) ، حيث كان ( نابليون بونابرت ) ـ الحاكم المطلق لفرنسا قبل ذلك ـ قد أصبح ملكًا لهذه الجزيرة الصغيرة فحسب .

وبعـد أن كان الحاكم على رعايا بلغ تعدادهم 120 مليون نسمة ، صار الآن حاكمًا لرعاية الجزيرة البالغ عددهم ستة آلاف نسمة فقط .

وفى فرنسا ، كانت أسرة ( البوربون ) الحاكمة قـد عادت إلى العرش فى شخص ( لويس الثامن عشر ) الذى أعدمته الثورة . وكان أصدقاء ( نابليون ) فى فرنسا يخططون لإعادة الإمبراطور السابق إلى عرش فرنسا ، بينما كان هو نفسه منهمكًا فى التخطيط لعودته المظفرة

ضمن أجواء غامضة يدور بحث البروفيسور لانغدون أستاذ علم الرموز الدينية في جامعة هارفارد عن سر الرسالة التي تركها جد صوفي خلف لوحة ليوناردو دافنشي “مادونا أوف ذا روكس” والتي كانت حلقة أخرى تضاف إلى سلسلة من الرموز المرتبطة ببعضها البعض، حيث كان جد صوفي سونيير ذا ولع شديد بالجانب الغامض والعبثي لليوناردو دافنشي.

وفي الوقت ذاته كان اهتمام البروفيسور لانغدون وولعه شديداً بالرموز الدينية وبفكها، فكتبه حول الرسومات الدينية وعلم الرموز جعلت منه معارضاً مشهوراً في عالم الفن حتى غدا حضوره قوياً وشهرته واسعة وخاصة بعد تورطه في حادثة في الفاتيكان، تلك الحادثة أخذت أبعاداً إعلانية إلى درجة جعلت أهل الفن مهتمين به إلى أبعد الحدود.

ينطلق لانغدون وصوفي في رحلة بحثية تمر في شوارع روما متوقفة عند كاتدرائياتها مروراً إلى باريس متوقفة عند متحف اللوفر في رحلة مشوقة لمعرفة سر رسالة جد صوفي، والتي فتحت آفاقاً إلى اكتشاف سر الفارس المخلد في قصيدة دونت ضمن تلك الرسالة وذلك ضمن أجواء بوليسية شيقة وبأسلوب تميز به الكاتب دان براون في قصصه ذات الطابع البوليسي، ويمكن القول بأن “شيفرة دافنتشي” هذه تتجاوز بتصنيفها الرواية البوليسية المثيرة بمراحل عديدة إذ أنها يلفها غموض ممتع مرتكز على أسرار بشكل ألغاز. تشد القارئ إلى درجة كبيرة متابعاً تفاصيل تلك الرواية بمزيد من المتع والذهول.

ومما تجدر الإشارة إليه أخيراً هو أن هذه الرواية قد ترجمت إلى أكثر من 50 لغة وطبع منها أكثر من 8 ملايين نسخة وهذا ما يؤكد قول نيلسون دي ميل “إن دان براون هو واحد من أفضل وأذكى وأكثر الكتاب براعة في البلاد. وشيفرة دافنتشي تتجاوز بتصنيفها الرواية البوليسية المثيرة بمراحل عديدة, إنها بحق عبقرية محضة”.
