Amara is a young girl of fourteen, living in the land of Kumilaka, where she constantly has to deal with being different. Her world is shaken when she finds out that her little brother, Neo, has been touched. The Morbus Touch, a deadly disease, kills the child before they reach their seventh birthday. Amara is determined to save her brother by finding the cure rumored to be in the Mountains of Emberose. But to do so, she must venture outside the little island she calls home. She will soon learn that the journey will not be free of life-threatening obstacles and shocking encounters. In the midst of it all, Amara will find within herself the power she never knew existed. But will she find the answers she is looking for? And will her bravery be enough to help her through the unforgiving dangers she must face to save her brother?

Happiness is the main goal for everyone in life. Work places are also focusing on happiness among their employees. Recently, many countries started to organize conferences and summits about happiness in work place. This means that happiness became an essential concept and requirement rather than being an optional one.
I chose to name the book (100X100) where the first 100 is 100 different ways to achieve happiness at work place and the second 100 means around 100 words in each paragraph.
My objective is mainly to open the reader’s mind about the mentioned tools without going into a lot of depth, then give the opportunity to readers to search more about each tool.

I have always been impressed by formal forums, protocols, international representation, and official states’ uniforms. I have full conviction that every culture has the right to be represented and to have its message conveyed across the globe. I believe that the best representation of any country is the person who full-heartedly wishes to do so, with complete devotion and love of what they do. Their only motive is their pride in their country, their belief in their message, and their comprehension of the importance of such duty. Consequently, my spontaneous answer was, as you would have predicted, that I will become an ambassador. Silence enveloped the place, and then shortly, was followed by whispers and mutters. Students’ loud laughter prevailed in the place, giving the impression that they have full knowledge, based on comprehensive and extensive research studies about all the obstacles that may prevent me from achieving my ambition or its requirements, and about the impossibility of achieving my dream. Anyone who sees them would think that they already know the unseen, and are certain of the impossibility of achieving this dream and its requirements. I was under the impression that I told them that I aspire to solely make my own spaceship and travel through galaxies or to travel through time somehow.

Symbiosis in nature is the interaction between two distinct species looking to forge closer long-term relationships. There are three types of interactions; “Mutualism” (honey bees and flowers for example, where both species benefit), “Commensalism” (A bird’s nest on a tree for example, where one species benefits whilst the other is not harmed) and “Parasitism” (humans and mosquitoes for example, where one species benefits and the other is harmed).

Symbiotic, human to human interactions seek to form closer long-term relationships based on “Mutualism”, the type of interaction where there is mutual benefit. In the business context, symbiosis happens when key stakeholders collaborate as true partners (not adversaries) for mutual benefit. Assets exist to provide value to the organization and its stakeholders. The hotel asset owner through his representative interacts with the hotel brand operator to create value; find improvements, find opportunities.

This book primarily looks at hospitality management, key relationships and the complex operational dynamics between two key stakeholders; hotel asset owners and their branded hotel operators focusing on five key principles and a symbiotic leadership approach as a key enabler. There is a lot of room for improvement and it is this crucial relationship that is examined. This guidebook has been written for hotel brand operators, hotel asset owners and their representatives who are managing, overseeing or monitoring a business venture for themselves or on behalf of others. It is also a valuable guide for students of hospitality as well as the curious layman – anyone who has stayed in a hotel.

يا زينب، منذ عام 1996م، كنتِ وقتها في خامستكِ، وأنا أجاهدني بالكتابة إليكِ، اشرعُ أسوّدُ عشرات الصفحات ثمّ انقلبُ عليّ جرّاء يقيني إنّي في غفلة منّي أكتب بانفعال غير مبرر، أصرفني عن الكتابة سنة أو أكثر، ريثما يعود توقي للتواصل بكِ، أُقبل على الكتابة، لأنصرف عنها بعد قليل للسبب إيّاه، كل بداياتي تلك حفظتها داخل ملفات تحمل تأريخها آملاً أعودُ إليها أوظّفها ضمن مشروع واحد أتمنّى وصوله إليكِ كاملاً، الليلة اتخذتُ قرار البدء من جديد دون العودة لما راكمته في مرات سابقة، كذلك آليتُ على نفسي أكتبها خبط عشواء، غير ملزم بتسلسل الأحداث حسب المنطق المعتاد لتواليها، منساقاً لتداعي لحظتها الآنيّة حتّى لا أتذرّعُ بصعوبة التنسيق فانصرف عن المتابعة.

في حضرة العنقاء والخل الوفي، ينطلق اسماعيل فهد اسماعيل مستعيداً ذاته الكامنة في ما وراء الكلمات والشخصيات والمواقف، ليصنع روايته الجديدة وكأنه يصنع روايته الأولى، بعد تجريب كتابي طال وتمدد بين سنوات العمر وتضاعيف الموهبة وتداعيات الحياة بكل معطياتها.

في هذه الرواية يبدو هذا الروائي المخضرم شاباً موهوباً، للتو غادر السبعين من عمره كي يبدأ الكتابة في خضم الدهشة واسترسال الاكتشاف وزهو الموهبة الفريدة.

ولعلي لا أبالغ إذا قلت أنني شعرت وأنا أقرأ هذه الرواية وكأنني أقرأ لاسماعيل فهد اسماعيل للمرة الأولى في حياتي، أنا التي اطلعت على معظم رواياته الخمس والعشرين السابقة والتي أصدرها على مدى أربعة عقود كاملة، ربما لأنه يحاول من خلالها أن يقدم نمطا كتابيا جديدا يخلط فيه وفقا لمقادير محسوبة، من دون أن تخل بعفوية الفن الروائي في ذلك الشق، بين الحياة كما عاش بعض مواقفها فعلا، وبينها كما يريد أن يعيش بعض مواقفها، وبين ما يتوقع ان تكون، وبين الحلم. وأيضا لأنه في هذه الحياة التي كتبها بين ثنايا رواية اختزل الكثير مما يقال في سبيل التطلع الى قارئ نوعي ومتلق جاد وذكي..والأهم عاشق للرواية.

«في حضرة العنقاء والخل الوفي» إذاً رواية «صعبة» ليس على صعيد الكتابة وحسب، بل أولا على صعيد القراءة، وأتوقع أن المتلقي لا بد وأن يجتهد كثيرا في سبيل استخلاص المتع الراسبة بين نهايات الفصول حتماً.
