ونصح بِل غيتس، أثرى أثرياء العالم «كل مهتم بتاريخ الجنس البشري ومستقبله بقراءة كتاب العاقل». وقال عنه الرئيس الأمريكي السابق باراك أوباما إنه كتاب «مثير للاهتمام واستفزازي، ويُبيّن مدى قصر وجودنا على هذه الأرض».
