Environmental effects, spillage and dust- emission are few of those processes which can corrode concrete. Protection of concrete surface of constructed elements from corrosive attack “arising through very harsh corrosive conditions” from all those (and many more) sources of corrosion becomes a moral duty of a Civil Engineer.

اصدر الكاتب والاعلامي مبارك الشعلان كتاباً بعنوان «مطبلون بلا حدود» ويصنف الاصدار انه من الادب الساخر وقد اهدى الكاتب هذا الاصدار الى قدامى المحاربين حسب وصفه وهم كل من الكاتب محمد مساعد الصالح وفؤاد الهاشم وغازي القصيبي وخالد القشطيني ومحمود السعدني وجهاد الخازن وهم الذين وصفهم في اهدائه بـ «رفاق رحلة الكتابة الساخرة الذين غيروا المعادلة في الزمن الجميل فأصبحت الناس تقرأ الجريدة من الصفحة الاخيرة».
وقد طالب الشعلان في كتابه بان تكون هناك منظمة حسب تعليقه الساخر تسمى «مطبلون بلا حدود» اسوة بالمنظمات الاخرى والذي سيعزز طلبهم مستقبلا بتوسيع دائرة نشاطهم عربيا وعالميا خاصة في زمن العولمة اسوة ببقية المنطمات النبيلة بعد ان الغيت كل الحدود بين ابناء المهنة الواحدة.
كما شارك الكاتب القدير صلاح الساير في كتابة المقدمة حيث وصف الشعلان بانه كاتب يختار مفرداته بدقة ويسطرها برشاقة لافتة كما تهفهف عباراته الرقيقة كالفراشة في بساتين الورد غير ان المعاني التي تنطوي عليها تلك العبارات قوية
